A DSLR or mirrorless camera can be synchronized with any Tentacle SYNC E or ORIGINAL timecode generator or TRACK E audio recorder. If you are using one of those cameras together with a Tentacle device, one of the audio tracks will be used for recording Audio TC. The SYNC E & ORIGINAL will send the audio timecode to the left channel and the sound of the built-in reference microphone to the right channel. For more information about Tentacle syncing workflow with the Setup App, click here.
Proceed as follows:
- Set your camera and Tentacle device to the same frame rate
- Sync your Tentacle and set the Output Volume in the app to MIC or AUTO
- Connect the Tentacle device to the Mic input of the camera
- Make sure to level the audio, so that it's not clipping
- SYNC E & ORIGINAL will send the audio timecode to the left channel and the audio of the built-in reference microphone to the right channel
Recommended cable
C07 Tentacle to DSLR-Timecode Cable (included in any SYNC E set)
C15 Tentacle and Microphone to Camera Y-cable (if a different external mic is used instead of built-in mic of SYNC E / ORIGINAL)
