If you want to synchronize your Sony FS7 camera with Timecode, you can use any Tentacle SYNC E or ORIGNAL timecode generator, TIMEBAR timecode display or TRACK E audio recorder. For more information about Tentacle syncing workflow with the Setup App, click here.
Setup Tentacle with Sony FS7 with Extension Unit XDCA-FS7:
- Set your Tentacle device and camera to the same frame rate
- Sync your Tentacle and set the Output Volume in the app to LINE
- Make sure to set the TC connector switch of the camera to IN
- Connect your Tentacle to the TC connector of the Extension Unit
- Set your camera menu:
- TC/UB Menu > Preset > Run > Free Run > Display Select > Timecode
- You can also use one Assignable Button to assign it with Duration/TC/U-Bit to display the TC on the screen
- The camera display with show EXT-LK once the camera is synced

Setup Tentacle with Sony FS7 and audio timecode:
Warning! We don't recommend this setup, but if you still want to sync the FS 7 with audio TC proceed as followed:
- Set your Tentacle device and camera to the same frame rate
- Sync your Tentacle and set the Output Volume in the app to MIC
- Set the FS7 to LINE
- Connect your Tentacle to the TC connector of to one of the XLR Inputs
- Connect your Tentacle with the Tentacle to XLR adapter cable to one of the XLR Inputs
- If you monitor the audio track, which the Timecode is recorded onto, you should be able to hear the Audio Timecode

If the Tentacle is not connected to the camera and sending timecode, the camera will start drifting for about 1 frame per hour.
