Your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) can be synchronized with any Tentacle SYNC E mk2 timecode generator (firmware version 1.2.1 or later) or TIMEBAR timecode display (firmware version 1.1.0 or later). For more information about Tentacle syncing workflow with the Setup App, click here.
Proceed as follows:
- Set the Tentacle device and project on your DAW to the same frame rate
- Sync your Tentacle device
- Enable MIDI Timecode in the settings of your device
- Connect your Tentacle to the computer via USB cable
- The device will be recognized as a MIDI device
- Since MIDI is an open standard, no additional drivers are required
- Configure Your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation)
You can now use the Tentacle timecode for synchronized playback or recording in your DAW. Refer to your DAW’s documentation for detailed instructions on how to synchronize using MIDI Timecode.
Example Logic Pro X
- Open your Project Settings > Synchronization > Sync Mode > MTC (MIDI Timecode)
- Map your DAW timeline’s starting point to the corresponding timecode
- Close the Project Settings
- Enable Sync (blue clock icon) in the header toolbar
- Your timeline should now follow the SYNC E timecode
