This is a short description of the workflow and the settings you have to do, when you want to send timecode from a Tentacle to a Tascam FR-AV2
Proceed as follows:
- Open the Tentacle Setup App and set Tentacle frame rate (same as audio recorder)
- Set the Output Volume to Line
- Sync your Tentacle device it's outputting timecode (blinking green)
- Set the Tascam Menu:
- Press the F1 [MENU] button
- Select TIMECODE and press
the F4 [ENTER] button
- Select TC GEN MODE and
press the F4 [ENTER] button. - Select TC IN MASTER and
press the F4 [ENTER] button.
- If “TC IN MASTER” is selected when INPUT screen > INPUT is
set to “EXT”, the L channel of the EXT input will be turned off
and the input sound will become silent. - For this unit to read timecode from the TC IN, input must be
in the specified level range for LTC. - When inputting audio through the /EXT/TC IN jack, select a
setting other than “TC IN MASTER”. - Connect your Tentacle with the Tentacle to DSLR Mini jack cable to the TC IN jack of the Tascam
- After receiving timecode, if “TC IN MASTER” is switched to
“FREE RUN” or the cable connected to the /EXT/TC IN jack is
disconnected, the unit will run freely based on the timecode
data that it received most recently. - We recommend to leave the the Tentacle connected and leave Tascam on “TC IN MASTER” all the time though
