All portable Tascam audio recorders besides the FR-AV2 and the DR-10 series can be synchronized with Audio Timecode by any Tentacle SYNC E or ORIGINAL timecode generator, TIMEBAR timecode display & TRACK E audio recorder. For this you need one spare audio track of your recorder to record the Audio Timecode signal. For more information about Tentacle syncing workflow with the Setup App, click here.
Proceed as follows:
- Set your audio recorder and Tentacle device to the same frame rate
- Sync your Tentacle and set the Output Volume in the app to MIC, LINE or AUTO depending on the Mic input
- Connect the Tentacle device to one of the microphone inputs of your recorder (3.5 mm or XLR)
- Adjust incoming timecode signal, so that it's not clipping on the audio track
- For monitoring the recording, you'll need to mute the Audio TC signal on the headphone output in the settings of the Tascam
