TIMEBAR Setup App Settings

In order to access the settings of your TIMEBAR timecode display, please tap on the TIMEBAR in the device list.

Timecode Mode:

Device Icon	To change the icon, tap on it and select another one from the menu (find out more)
Status Overview	TC (Timecode) ORANGE: device is not synchronized and is waiting to be synced wirelessly by BT or by cable GREEN: device is synchronized and outputting a timecode signal through the 3.5 mm socket FRAME RATE: displays the currently selected frame rate (e.g. 24 fps, 25 fps, 29.97 fps, etc.) OUTPUT LEVEL: displays selected output level Mic or Line (more info here) BATTERY: displays battery status (more information on battery handling) PERCENTAGE: shows battery level as percentage (%) TC: shows running timecode Mode information: shows the selected mode your are operation in
Timebar Mode	Select one of the following modes: Timecode Mode Timer Mode Stopwatch Mode Message Mode Slate Mode
Custom Timecode	If you want to set a custom timecode for a single SYNC E: Tap on "Set Timecode" A pop up window will open Set a starting time or select Set to Phone Time (help article about custom timecode)
Frame Rate	If you want to set the frame rate for a single SYNC E: Tap on Frame Rate A drop down menu will open Select your desired frame rate (more info on shooting with higher frame rates than 30 fps)
User Bits	In order to change the format or use custom user bits: Tap the user bits field A pop up window will open Select your preferred values for the user bit
Output Volume	Select the output level of the 3.5 mm timecode out according to TC IN of the recording device you are using: MIC: Use for microphone inputs LINE: Use for dedicated timecode inputs
Sync to this Device	If you want to sync a Tentacle device that is new to your setup or wirelessly sync to external timecode you can use this function. Here are two detailed articles about both workflows: Sync to external TC via Setup App Add device to synchronized setup via App

Timer Mode:

Timer Preset

Enable one of three options for the start time with the slide switch next to each options. Edit by clicking on the time.

Stopwatch Mode:

Start / Stop	Press Button B
Reset	Press Button A

Message Mode:

Text	Enable one of three options for the text message with the slide switch next to each options. Edit by clicking on the time.
Text Scroll Speed	Adjust the speed of the displayed text (1 - 16)

Slate Mode:

Timecode Hold Time	Adjust the timecode hold time after the clap (0.1s - 5.0s)
User Bits Hold Time	Adjust the user bits hold time after the clap (0 - 5 seconds)
Text Hold Time	Adjust the text hold time after the clap (0 - 5 seconds)
Text	Edit displayed text by clicking on it.

Settings:

Device Name	To change the name, just click on the serial number and edit it
Auto Brightness	Here you can enable the automatic brightness, the display will adjust to the brightness of it's surroundings
Brightness Level	Adjust the brightness level manually via slider
Brightness Boost	Press the button, if you need an especially bright display. Boost will be active for 30 seconds.
Orientation	Choose between three options for the display orientation: Default: display doesn't flip when Timebar is upside down Upside Down: display is upside down and doesn't flip when turned upside down Auto: display automatically flips when TIMEBAR is flipped upside down
Auto Power Off Time	If no cable is connected to your SYNC E, it will power off after the set time to safe battery (more info)
MIDI Timecode	Here you can enable a SYNC E mk2 to output a MIDI timecode signal for Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) since firmware update V1.2.1 in November 2024. (Find out more about MIDI Timecode) In case the switch is greyed out, please update!
Info	Here you can find detailed information about your SYNC E firmware version, hardware revision, serial number, app version and the Tentacle's internal real time clock settings
