The Nikon ZR with its latest firmware V1.10 can be synchronized with LTC file timecode by any Tentacle SYNC E or ORIGINAL timecode generator or TRACK E audio recorder. For more information about Tentacle syncing workflow with the Setup App, click here.
Proceed as follows:
- Download the latest firmware (V1.10) for your Nikon ZR
- Set your camera and Tentacle device to the same frame rate
- Sync your Tentacle and set the Output Volume to Auto

- Connect the Tentacle device to the 3.5 mm Mic input of the camera
- Go to the Menu of the camera:
- Timecode > Record Timecodes > On or On (with HDMI output)
- Timecode > LTC Signal Input > On
- Timecode is sent to the left channel
- Running Timecode will appear in the display
- When H.264 8-bit (MP4) is selected no timecode is recorded in the files
- When LTC signal input is set to ON, the options Count-up method, Timecode origin and Drop frame are not available
- If you Jam-Sync the camera, the timecode will be lost after you turn off the camera and you have to re-sync
