There is a way to sync your Aaton Cantar X 1 / 2 / 3 audio recorders with Tentacle SYNC E or ORIGINAL timecode generator, TIMEBAR timecode display & TRACK E audio recorder. For more information about Tentacle syncing workflow with the Setup App, click here.
Proceed as follows:
- Set your audio recorder and Tentacle device to the same frame rate
- Synchronize your Tentacle device and set the Output Volume in the app to LINE or AUTO
- Set audio recorder menu:
- Menu > Timecode Source > Ext. Clock
- Connect your Tentacle device to the TC input of the audio recorder
- With this workflow you can even power down the Cantar X without losing TC

Aaton Cantar X 1-3 as timecode source:
- Set audio recorder and Tentacle device to the same frame rate
- Start your Tentacle device, so it's ready to receive external timecode (flashing red)
- Set audio recorder menu:
- Menu > Audio & Timecode Parameters > Ltc level > Medium
- Connect your Tentacle to the TC in/out of your audio recorder
- Keep the Tentacle connected until it's synchronized (flashing green)

Important note: Every time the Cantar X is powered down, timecode synchronization is lost and you need to re-sync the Tentacle device.
