In case you encounter the warning "Codec unavailable" when using our Tentacle Sync Studio, it just means that the needed codecs are not yet installed.
Why?
The Tentacle Sync Studio doesn't have its own codecs but relies on Apple Codecs. So if your camera records with XAVC LongGOP or XAVC Intra Codec, you will need that codec installed on your computer to view your footage and export your media.
How to…
The Apple Pro Video Formats are available for download from the Apple Support website.
If you prefer to use XML or AAF export instead of media export, you do not need to install the codecs at all. The exported XML will just link fine to the camera files – even if the codec is unavailable.
To check, if your computer has the needed codecs and operating system, open the Settings of Tentacle Sync Studio. The box "Codec support" shows the status of your codecs. Please make sure all three items are checked. You need at least macOS 10.12 (Sierra).
