The Sony FX9 is well equipped for timecode synchronization with file timecode, which basically every editing software can read and process. You can use any Tentacle Sync ORIGINAL & SYNC E timecode generator, TIMEBAR timecode display or TRACK E audio recorder to send timecode to your camera. Proceed as follows:
- Set camera and Tentacle device to the same frame rate
- Sync your Tentacle and set the Output Level in the app to LINE or AUTO
- Connect it to the BNC TIMECODE input of the camera
- Set camera menu:
- TC/Media > Timecode > Mode: Preset > Run: Free Run
- TC/Media > TC Display > Display Select: Timecode
- Connect your Tentacle device to the TC port on the back of the body
- The camera display with show EXT-LK once the camera is synced
